Daily Announcements – Thursday, March 30, 2017 – Day 1

Duke of Edinburgh students are asked to attend an important meeting in the cafeteria at 1:10 today.

All grade nine students before registration this Friday, please submit all your courses on-line in My Blueprint.  Print off your confirmation copy and bring that with you to your appointment on Friday.  As well, bring in a completed course selection sheet from the back of the Colonel Gray handbook.

Drama cast members are reminded of the rehearsal today from 3-4:15 in the cafeteria. Please check the Google Classroom for more information.

Badminton practice for grades seven, eight, and nine today after school from 3-4:30.

The next Caribou math competitions will take place on Wednesday, April 5 period 4 (in Mme. Whitnell’s room #229) or if that time does not work for you – Thursday April 6, period 6 (also in Mme. Whitnell’s room).  The interactive question will be the NIM game which you can practice now on the Caribou Contest games page.  For this competition, the history question will be about Euclid.

Members of the A girls’ basketball team are reminded to hand in your uniform and pay your team fee if you have not already done so.

QC SSP literacy lesson will take place today during afternoon homeroom.  Students will be dismissed at 12:05 and return to school at 1:00 sharp – lesson begins at 1:05.

Students attending today’s field trip to the Atlantic Technology Centre for the Impact Expo are to please go to the cafeteria with your coat and boots on right after these announcements.  The bus will be leaving around 9:00 from the Simmons parking lot.

Drama cast members are reminded that there are rehearsals on both Tuesday and Thursday this week, from 3-4:15 in the cafeteria. Please check the Google Classroom for more information.

Please return the release forms for flag football to Mr. Duguay.  The first tryout is Wednesday at 4:30.

Yearbook meeting at 12:35 in room 204 today.

Badminton practice for grades seven, eight, and nine will be after school today from 3 – 4:30. There will also be practices Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school from 3-4:30.

All dodgeball team lists are due by Tuesday at 3pm. Please pass in your lists into Mr. Smith or Mr. White. Minimum of seven players per team.

Students interested in attending the Impact Expo are reminded to bring their release forms to Mr. MacNeill in room 216.  The Expo is tomorrow, the bus leaves at 9:00 and lunch will be provided.

The Impact Expo has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 28.  Students in grade seven, eight and nine who are interested can pick up a release form in the office.  The first 40 students to return the form to Mr. MacNeill will be able to attend.

Locker clean up……

Overdue library books can be returned today during locker clean up or tomorrow, but you are allowed to keep anything you are still reading and return it after the break

Tryouts for the grade nine spring volleyball league starts today from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Colonel Gray.

Congratulations to both teams who participated in the Destination Imagination regional tournament this weekend. Our two teams were excellent representatives for our school and did a great job presenting their solutions to the challenges. Anyone who might be interested in DI for next year can talk to Mrs. Giggey or Mrs. Duncan for more information.
