Daily Announcements – Wednesday, September 19, 2018 – Day 4

Monitor duty today:  9B – Mme. MacLeod

Cafeteria special today: pasta bake with Caesar salad and garlic toast.  Tomorrow:  teriyaki chicken with rice and veggies.

Reminder to cross country runners planning on traveling to Maine with the Colonel Gray team that you must confirm your plans with either the coach or Mr. Smith before the end of the day tomorrow.

The “AA” girls soccer practice today from 3:15 to 4:45.  Soccer jerseys will be available during lunch time today in room 225.

The “A” boys soccer will have their second tryout tomorrow after school – the field will be announced tomorrow.

Duke Students are asked to check the google classroom for information regarding the practice journey, which is scheduled for Friday afternoon.  The event will go rain or shine.

The girls field hockey team played well last night in their first game of the season, losing 3-0 to East Wiltshire. Good job girls.

Baseball tryouts will be held today at City field at 3:30. Players are asked to be dressed and ready to start an intersquad game at 3:30 sharp.

A reminder to all athletes that your athletic fees are due by this Friday. Online payment is available or cash or cheque can be given to your coach or to Mr. Smith or Mr. White.

The games room is being re-done and we are looking for donations of board games, Xbox games, Nintendo Wii games, puzzles, posters or anything game-related.  Please drop donations to Miss. Kim or Miss Robin.

Any students interested in taking part in the hockey skills academy are asked to pick up an application form from phys ed offices. Applications are due to Mr. Smith by this Friday.

First jazz rehearsal is today from 3:15 to 4:15.

Any students who gave their names to Mrs. Giggey last week to be a library monitor are asked to come to a training session in the library todayat 12:45.

Daily Announcements – Tuesday, September 18, 2018 – Day 3

Monitor duty today:  9A – Mme. MacIsaac

Cafeteria special today:  spicy chicken taco with rice.  Tomorrow:  pasta bake with Caesar salad and garlic toast.

Yesterday there were two separate amounts of money found in the school.  If you lost money and think it may belong to you please check in the office.

The QC baseball team will be holding their second tryout today at 3:30 at City Field.

QC was well represented at the UPEI Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, with several members of the QC team racing the course ahead of the university athletes.  Great early season performances from Alex Rogers, Xavier Dirnberger, Markus Wiedemer, Luc Doucette, Jonathan Hyndman, Clare Bowie and Paul Kingston.

“AA” girls soccer practice tomorrow at 3:15.

Boys “A” soccer will have their first tryout today after school from 3:00 – 4:15 at the small field next to Simmons Arena. Please make sure to bring your signed release form to the tryout. If you can’t attend this tryout but would still like to tryout for the team, you MUST speak with Ms. Muggah or Ms. MacLeod before the end of the day today.

Members of the field hockey team are asked to come to the phys ed office at break this morning to get their uniforms from Mr. Smith.

Meet-the-Saxophone class today at 12:40 in the band room for grade eight students.

Students interested in jazz band please sign up today.  First rehearsal is tomorrow from 3:15 to 4:15.

The list of yearbook members has been posted at each water fountain around the school.  Thanks to all who applied – the choice was a difficult one.  We are keeping all applications in case we need additional members later on.  The first meeting will take place today at 12:35 in Tech Ed – room 205.  All members need to be in attendance.

Any students interested in taking part in the hockey skills academy are asked to pick up an application form from phys ed offices. Applications are due to Mr. Smith by next Friday.

The cafeteria accepts only Canadian money; other currencies cannot be accepted.

Girls “AA” soccer practice today from 3:30 – 5:00.

Any grade nine students interested in running for student council president are encouraged to attend the information session on Monday, September 17 from 12:20 – 12:35 in Mme. Whitnell’s room (# 229).

The boys baseball team will have a tryout today at 3:30 at City Field.

We would like to congratulate Will Morrison, Tyler Worth, and Kal White who are members of the Capital District Islanders Bantam AAA Team who captured the Silver Medal in the Bantam AAA Atlantic Championships yesterday in Cornwall. The Capital District Islanders team finished the tournament with a 4-1 record. Congratulations on a terrific season. Well done!

We would like to congratulate the following QC students who are members of the Capital District Islanders Peewee AAA Team who captured the gold medal in winning the National Atlantic 13U Championships yesterday in a thrilling 14-inning victory in the championship game. The team had a 5-0 record in the tournament. Congratulations to: Brett Arsenault, Brayden Bruce, Jack Burke, Ryan Harper, Jack Rowell, & Wil White.
